hey, i’m grace

I’m a Los Angeles-based freelance writer. I write about pop culture, LGBTQ+ issues (I mean, c’mon, look at that short-sleeved button-up), food and drink, health/wellness, and lots of other things.

My first book, THE 2000s MADE ME GAY, came out on St. Martin’s Press in June 2021. It’s a humor-driven essay collection that interweaves personal anecdotes about growing up as a closeted Midwestern Catholic with reflections on 2000s pop culture. Subjects include: how Taylor Swift’s Fearless made me a U-Hauler; Seth Cohen as my personal lesbian role model; MTV’s The Challenge as queer community, and much more. You can order it here.

My work has been all over the internet, and I’m a longtime contributor to The Onion, Reductress, The Takeout and Chicago magazine. I’d probably love to talk to you, so don’t hesitate to reach out!
